About Me

Noelia was born and raised in the great state of Texas, San Antonio to be exact. After graduating from High School in the Top 50% she went on to the illustrious community college, Northwest Vista. After two years at Northwest Vista she fulfilled a lifelong dream of attending college in Boston. She left behind her family, the house she shared with her friends, the dry heat, her hail damaged Daewoo, Mexicans, and her career as a Sonic carhop. In place she got a tiny basement apartment right next to Fenway Park, the worst winter Boston had seen in decades, public transportation, the Red Sox World Series Title, two Patriots’ Super bowl Championships, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Northeastern University.

After graduating she returned to San Antonio in January of 2006. She soon began her professional career as a researcher at a non-profit Latino Policy center and enrolled in a Master’s program. She received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 2009 from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Noelia spent most of 2010 working on her Spanish, managing her World Cup mania and subsequent World Cup withdraw, and thinking about the next step in her life. In August she submitted her Peace Corps application. She was nominated to serve as an NGO development volunteer in Eastern Europe. She is patiently awaiting her invitation.
